Obituary of Anthony J. Anello

Anthony J. Anello, Sr., 83 of Toms River passed away at home on Saturday, December 19. Anthony worked for the A&P Tea Co. as a meat manager at several stores in the New Jersey area for 35 years before retiring in 1992. He then worked as a butcher for Mid-Shore Meats of Toms River from 1992 to 2005. Anthony was a proud Navy veteran having served during World War II. Born in Glen Ridge , he grew up in Montclair and lived in Wall Township before moving to Toms River 10 years ago. His wife of 49 years, Phyllis Cavallo Anello, predeceased him in 2003. He is survived by his son Anthony Anello, Jr., and his wife Sandra; his grandson, Anthony Anello, III all of Toms River , and several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 8 a.m. 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian will be celebrated 10:30 am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Old Freehold Road , Toms River , Interment will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wall Township .
