Obituary of Donald B. Wells

Sadly, we lost a delightful man, Donald Burnett Wells. He was a machinist at Phillips Mfg. Co. in Plainfield, NJ and Langley Aerospace in San Diego, CA. After working in California for 5 years, he returned to his birth state, New Jersey, on November 1993 residing in Toms River. He retired briefly and became a Toms River Auxiliary Policeman, entering the work-force once more now as a maintenance person at Whiting HealthCare, and on to Security positions. He enjoyed his favorite pastime, gardening and displaying his life long talent as a magician, displaying magic to children and at nursing homes which continued thru-out his adult life. Three months shy of his 80th birthday he retired from the work-force. Donald always marveled at his wonderful journey of life and the people he encountered and Love for his family. Quietly, Peacefully, at the age of '87' he passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Community Medical Center. Donald was born in Newark, NJ on August 4, 1928. Thru-out Don's life, he was respected by others because of his display of humbleness and dignity on immediately felt upon seeing him. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Geraldine (Jones) of 35 years and his daughter Dawn Marie who passed away May 18, 2016 at the age of 59. Donald is survived by his wife of 27 years, Elizabeth (Perry) Wells whom he found enjoyable and loved very dearly and was loved by Elizabeth as well. He is survived by his loving son, Donald B. Wells, Jr., and his wife Diane (Tammy) Wells; his daughters, Debra Hope Wells and Donna Rebecca (Thomas) Wells: four grandchildren, Leah, Maturi, Darias and Eric: four great-grandchildren, Brandon, Samuel, Troy and Nigel; two step-children, John Edward Perry and Melanie Marie Perry; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A gathering of Family and friends to celebrate his life will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm with the funeral service and Military Honors beginning at 12:30. Interment will be private at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
