Obituary of Carroll Wixson

Carroll D. Wixson, 87 of Manchester Twp., passed away Wednesday, December, 2016 at her home. Carroll was born in Trenton and lived most of her life in Island Heights, before moving to Manchester in 2003. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Toms River. She was a member of the Peach Plum Quilters and numerous community clubs in Manchester. She was a volunteer at The Arch, Ocean County Chapter. Carroll was predeceased by her husband LTC (retired) Robert B. Wixson in 2001, a brother John H. Drexler, III in 2005, and a sister Betty D. Francis in 1972. Surviving are two children, son Bruce Wixson, and daughter Holly A. Wixson; her sisters, Eileen Dillon and Mary D. Clarke; two granddaughters, Maggie Theresa and Kate E. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Hooper Ave., Toms River on Tuesday, Dec. 20 at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ
