Obituary of Edward R. Risden

Edward R. Risden, 85 of Wall Township, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025. Edward was born and raised in Long Branch and was a graduate of Long Branch High School. He lived in Matawan, Middletown and the Highlands before moving to Wall Township. Ed worked for the NJ Department of Corrections and was a Senior Corrections Officer assigned to the Adult Diagnostic & Treatment Center in Avenel. Over the years, Ed had attended the 5th Avenue Chapel in Belmar, Grace Fellowship in North Middletown, and the Bethel Bible Chapel in Middletown. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Marilyn Hart Risden in 2024, his parents, Albert and Martha Risden, brothers, Robert, Richard Risden and John Risden, sisters Joyce McNeil, Dorothy Hyatt and Geneva McLeod. Ed is survived by his daughter Robin Loffer; two sons, Christopher Eric Risden and his wife Megumi, Christopher Ian Peer Risden; his honorary foster daughter, Linda Feeney; three grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah and Hannah Risden; brother Gerald Risden and his wife Marilyn: and sister-in-law Peg Hart. Visitation will be held at the 5th Avenue Chapel, 5th Ave. & B Street, Belmar, NJ on Thursday, March 6, 2025 from 10:00 to 11:00am. A funeral service will begin at 11:00. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to The Evangelical Alliance Mission, T.E.A.M., at P.O. Box 1683, Carol Stream, IL 60132-1683 would be appreciated.
