Penny Peirson, 65, of Lakewood, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Born in Lakewood and raised in Toms River, Penny was the youngest of nine children and spent her entire life on James Street, where she created countless cherished memories.

A proud graduate of Toms River High School East, Penny dedicated her career to serving her community, working at Taco Bell and ShopRite. Her passion for helping others was evident in her involvement with The Arc of Ocean County, where she contributed significantly to various community initiatives. She was involved with many special needs programs. Including St. Justin’s Center for Learning and Our Special Kids of Toms River. Penny was also a spirited athlete, participating in the Special Olympics, where she excelled in bowling, swimming, and tennis, earning numerous trophies and medals that reflected her determination and talent.

Penny had a zest for life that was infectious. She adored the music of the 1960s and could often be found dancing with joy. Halloween was her favorite holiday, a time when her playful spirit shone brightly. A devoted sports fan, she passionately supported the New York Giants, the New York Yankees, and the New Jersey Devils. Penny also had a special admiration for wrestling legend Hulk Hogan, whose larger-than-life persona resonated with her own vibrant character.

Penny is predeceased by her beloved parents, Arthur and Harriet, and three brothers, Tyler, Chris, and Eric. 

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Karen; her siblings, Skip (Marge), Kenneth, Rori (Tracy), Deborah (Paul), and Kerry (Louis); and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Interment to follow.

Penny's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, a testament to a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering kindness. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Angel on earth, angel in heaved

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Penny's honor to the Special Olympics and the His-Holy Innocents Society Southern Ocean County Chapter/St. Justin's Center for Learning.
