Christopher Edward Cogan, born on June 19, 1979, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025.
Chris was born in the Bronx and shortly after, he and his family moved to Newmarket, County Cork, Ireland where he resided for ten years. He enjoyed growing up in Ireland where he played on the farm and spent time with his family. As a young teen, he and his family moved to New Jersey, making it his home ever since.
Chris graduated from New Milford High School. Growing up he had a deep love for playing and watching soccer and was quite the accomplished soccer superstar athlete who was sought after for his skills. Chris was a devoted Liverpool soccer fan and New Jersey Devils hockey fan and never wanted to miss a Liverpool game when it was on. Chris started dating the love of his life, Pam, in 2001 and they were married on July 28, 2018. He loved and cherished his dogs - Rambo, Maggie, and Belle, whom he lovingly called his baby.
Chris was known for his great sense of humor, always bringing laughter and joy to those around him. He loved to travel the world. His favorite place to visit, and where he dreamed of living, was Amsterdam. Chris enjoyed many things in life such as taking walks in nature with his dogs, sitting outside relaxing while enjoying the weather, listening to nature and watching the planes go by wondering where they are off to, and cooking and creating new dishes for him and his wife. Chris loved history and learning new things. Every day you would find him on YouTube learning something new and interesting. Chris' love, kindness, and generosity will be deeply missed. He was known for his generous spirit and giving nature, always going out of his way to help others. Chris touched many people in his short life and all who knew him loved him very much.
Since moving to Toms River, Chris has been a devoted member of St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, where his strong faith and belief in God has remained a guiding light in his life.
He is predeceased by his parents, Cornelius ‘Frank’ and Margaret Ann Cogan.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Cogan; brothers, Stephen Cogan and Sean Cogan, his Aunt Carol and Uncle Phil Donohue; his Aunt Chrissie and Uncle Oliver Cogan; his Uncle Richard Cogan and many other relatives.
