Gerald M. “Gerry” Ring passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Ocean University Medical Center. Gerry was born in New York and moved with his parents to San Diego at 3 months of age. He graduated from Grossmont High School in 1960 and attended Grossmont College until entering the U.S. Army in 1963. While stationed at Fort Monmouth he met the love of his life, Carla Poulson, and they were married on December 18, 1965. This would have been their 60th wedding anniversary.

After being discharged from the Army, he took a position at Fort Monmouth as a Computer Specialist where he worked for the next 44 years at different agencies for the Department of Defense. In that time he worked for 4 years at ALMSA in St. Louis. Upon returning to Fort Monmouth he graduated from Ocean County College and in 1976 he graduated from Monmouth College with a Degree in Computer Science. His pride and joy were his sons, Christian and Shawn. He enjoyed being involved in all their activities, especially Boy Scouts and camping, Operation Friendship (a foreign exchange group), and high school sports and music. He was so proud when they both made Eagle Scout. He was also very involved with his granddaughter, Stephanie, enjoying her cheerleading over the years. Gerry most of all loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was very active in his church and held various positions. He was a gentle, thoughtful and caring family man, and we will miss him so much.

Gerry was predeceased by his parents Milton and Mary Ring. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Carla, just days short of 60 years; his son, Christian (Fran); his son, Shawn; his granddaughter, Stephanie (Gabe); 2 great grandsons, Vincent and Benicio; sister-in-law, Ruth Beselinoff; nephew, Joseph; brother-in-law, Robert Poulson (Diana).
