Lucille Josephine Mahan, 89, of Lakewood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025.
She was born on September 4, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York to Mario and Carmella Riservato. On October 28, 1961, Lucille married James Edward Mahan at All Saints Catholic Church in Brooklyn, New York. Together, they shared 56 years of marriage, three children and three grandchildren.
A longtime resident of both Toms River, New Jersey and Freeport, Florida, Lucille had a great passion for her family, friends, gardening, cooking and activities related to her church.
Lucille, along with her husband, were active members of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Toms River, New Jersey and Saint Rita Catholic Church in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James.
She is survived by her brother Mario Riservato and his wife, Janet; son, James Mahan Jr (Patrick Nall) of Pensacola, Florida; son, Steven Mahan (Laura) of Houston, Texas; daughter, Mary Peirson (Kenneth) of Toms River, New Jersey; and grandchildren Emily Trela (Seth), Robert Peirson and Rebecca Peirson.
The family extends their thanks to The Terraces at Lakewood Senior Living for their compassionate care.
A funeral mass will be held on, Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 12:00 pm at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, 3295 Barrancas Ave., Pensacola, Fl. An inurnment will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 2:30pm. The procession will meet following the church service in the parking lot.
