James W. Moore Obituary

James William “Jim” Moore, 77, of Toms River, NJ died on January 2, 2026, after a short illness. He was born on July 4, 1948, to James J and Agnes (Heferran) in Jersey City, NJ and grew up there before moving to Rutherford, NJ, and graduating Queen of Peace High School in North Arlington, NJ.


He married Patricia Mulligan on Oct 13, 1973, and eventually moved to Toms River where he lived the rest of his life and raised his family, first working for Otis Fasteners before co-founding his own business, Central Jersey Screw & Bolt in Lakewood, NJ.


He was well known for his love of James Brown and acapella music, especially The Persuasions. He was a devoted fan of his beloved Yankees and NY football Giants. He also loved war documentaries, especially WWII, and in the summer was often found taking care of his swimming pool.


He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Timothy. He is survived by his wife, sister Kevin-Marie, sons James M (Colleen) and Brian, and the apple of his eye, granddaughter Aisling.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2025 from 6 - 8 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2025 at 9:30 am at St. Justin's Church, 975 Fischer Boulevard, Toms River. Interment to follow.
