David P. Oeffner, 66, of Jackson, NJ died Saturday March 7, 2026 at Morristown Medical Center from heart failure after a brief illness. David was born in Red Bank, NJ on March 4, 1960. He worked in construction for most of his life and was semi-retired for the last few years.

David was predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Martha (Collins) Oeffner, his brothers; Marc and Edward Oeffner, and his sister, Carol Velotti.

David is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter, Michelle, his son, Vaughn, his sister-in-law, Kathy Oeffner, brothers-in-law, Michael and Jerry Softcheck, and their wives Linda and Nadine, numerous nieces and nephew and many cherished friends. David will be remembered for his quick wit, teasing nature, love of guitar playing and sci-fi movies that rivalled his wife's love. He was very proud that his children turned out to be loving and caring individuals who are carrying out their father's hopes and dreams for them.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 1 - 4 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ followed by cremation.
