Barbara Kay Johnson, 88, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 in Beachwood. Born in Lakewood, New Jersey, Barbara dedicated much of her professional life to H&L Finance, where her commitment and compassion shone through until her retirement at the age of 65.

Barbara found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly spending time at the beach and going for long walks.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Frederick and Frednia Johnson.

Barbara is survived by her devoted daughter, Cheryl Preyer, and her husband Frederick; her cherished grandchildren, Amanda Pratt and Heather McGrath; and four adoring great-grandchildren who brought countless smiles to her life. She is also survived by her sister, Frednia Brodbeck, and nephews, John and Max Brodbeck.

A memorial gathering to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 12 to 2 PM at Kedz Funeral Home, located at 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River.
