Julianna Buzgo Obituary

Julianna Buzgo, 87, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. A devoted mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, she will be remembered for her strength, resilience, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and heritage.

Born in Hungary on April 24, 1939, Julianna carried a great pride in her Hungarian roots throughout her life. In 1971, while pregnant, she and her beloved husband, Sandor, who predeceased her in 2007, immigrated to the United States sponsored by the Magyar Reformed Church in search of greater opportunity for their family. Leaving their home in Hungary and arriving with just the clothes on their backs, and hope for a better future, they built a life centered on family, sacrifice, and perseverance.

Together, they owned and operated dry cleaning businesses in Long Branch and Oakhurst, New Jersey, where Julianna became well known for her tireless work ethic, warm personality, and expert tailoring. She genuinely enjoyed getting to know her customers and took pride not only in her work but also in the relationships she built over the years. Outside of work, she found great joy in spending time at the Hungarian American Club of Woodbridge, where she remained connected to her culture and community. Julianna also loved gardening and tending to her yard.

More than anything, Julianna deeply cherished her grandchildren, Evan, Hannah, and Grace. They brought her immense joy and were a constant source of pride and happiness. She loved hearing about their lives, accomplishments, and adventures, and she remained closely connected to them no matter the distance. Her love for them was unconditional, and they were truly among the greatest joys of her life.

She is survived by her sons, Sandor Buzgo and his wife, Holly, and their son, Evan, and James Buzgo and his wife, Tricia, and their daughters, Hannah and Grace. She also leaves behind beloved family members in Hungary, who remained close to her heart throughout her life.

Julianna’s life was a testament to devotion, sacrifice, perseverance, and love. Her legacy lives on through the family she nurtured. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

A private family service will be held at the Magyar Reformed Church in New Jersey to honor Julianna’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to www.DementiaSociety.org/donate.
