Michael Barnickle Jr, 73, of Lakewood, NJ passed away unexpectedly on June 19, 2026 at his home.

Born on January 24, 1953, in Paterson, NJ he then resided in Haledon, NJ for almost 70 years. After graduation from Manchester Regional High School, Haledon, NJ in 1971 he worked for United States Postal Service for over 40 years. Earlier in his life he was a special police officer in Haledon, NJ and served with the United States National Guard.

Michael was an avid fan of the NY Jets attending many games over the years and was a big New York Yankee fan. He loved spending many summers at Point Pleasant Beach. Michael was an animal lover especially his “big boys”.

Michael was predeceased by his father Michael Barnickle Sr and his loving grandparents Russell and Mary Barnickle. He is survived by his sister Michelle Carbone and husband David Carbone, nieces Dayna Gallo and her husband Nicholas, Ashley Howell and her husband Ryan, great nephews Nicholas Gallo Jr and Owen Howell and great nieces Madelyn Gallo and Ainsley Howell. He is also survived by aunts Carol Marino and Marilyn DeFranco and numerous cousins.
