Obituary of Istvan Nyisztor

Istvan Nyisztor, 93, of Toms River, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024. Istvan was born in Romania and lived in Pompton Lakes before moving to Toms River in 1992. He worked as a pipefitter for Mariners - Astubeco of Edgewater, NJ, and was a communicant of St. Catharine of Siena Catholic Church in Seaside Park. Istvan was predeceased by his beloved wife, Roza Nyisztor in 2016 and a daughter, Rose Martinez in 2021. Istvan is survived by a son, Steve Nyisztor and his wife Denise; two daughters, Gyongyi Kocak and husband John, Nancy Carella and husband Paul; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 5 to 8 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Friday at St. Catharine of Siena Church, 50 ‘E’ Street, Seaside Park. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
