Obituary of Sharon H. Kneafsey

Sharon Helen Kneafsey (nee: Phelan), 72 of Monroe Township, formerly of Bayville, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. Sharon was an Executive Assistant at Garage Management Corp., in New York City for over 20 years, retiring in 2011 and she was the recording secretary for her section at Clearbrook, the senior community where she was living. Born in Jersey City, Sharon grew up in North Bergen, and spent many years in the Bronx, NY after getting married. She then moved to Bayville, NJ to raise her family and retired to Monroe Township in 2013. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John 'Jack' Kneafsey in 1980. Sharon is survived by her daughter Kathleen Korengo and her husband Kenneth; her son John Kneafsey and his wife Lori; her sister Kitty Berkey and her husband Tom; her cousin Stephanie Barbi; and her two cherished grandsons, Logan and Noah. Visitation will be held Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Barnabas Church, 33 Woodland Road, Bayville, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Rescue Me, Yorkie Rescue" (http://www.yorkierescueme.com/) who brought her much loved grand-dog, Philip, into her life.
