Obituary of Nancy L. Harris

Nancy L. Harris, 68 of Toms River, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011 at the Ocean Medical Center, Brick Twp. Nancy began her working carrier as a teacher with the Toms River Schools teaching home bound students. She and her husband David then started a family and she was a devoted wife and mother, always surrounded by a sea of her loving family members. Nancy owned and operated the Whitesville Garden Center in Toms River for 17 years. She was known for her creative nursery designs, her infectious smile and energetic spirit. She was a counselor with Oceans Harbor House of 17 years and was a Life Member of the Toms River First Aid Squad. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Born in Nutley, she moved to Toms River in 1964. Surviving are her husband David of 47 years; her children, Scott of Bamber Lake, Jim of Ocean City, JoAnn Jinks and her husband David of Toms River; three sisters, Janice Fanelli of Clifton Park, NY, Arlene Pustizzi of Newfield, NJ, Debbie Madonna of Oak Ridge, NJ; cherished granddaughter, Alyssa Jinks. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, Wednesday at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday at St. Joseph's Church, Hooper Ave., Toms River.
