Obituary of Benjamin W. Eisenbrey

Benjamin W. Eisenbrey, 79 of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at the VanDyke Hospice Care Center, Toms River. Benjamin worked for the Perlmutter family for close to 40 years beginning at their grocery store, downtown Toms River and continuing with them at the Shop Rite stores on Route 37 and Fischer Blvd. before retiring in 1995. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW, Toms River Post 24. He was active in local Boy Scouts and received the Silver Beaver Award which is the highest award that a local council may present to a volunteer for distinguished service to youth. Ben was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Born in Morrisville, PA, he moved to Toms River in 1957. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Audrey Schuler Eisenbrey in 1993. Surviving are his son Benjamin Eisenbrey and his wife Kristin Pine of Herkimer, NY; three loving grandchildren, Brennan, Kasey and Brian Eisenbrey; two sisters, Valerie Fuller of Orman Beach, FL, and Joann Monaghan of Jupiter, FL. He is also survived by eleven nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 am Monday, at St. Joseph's Church, Hooper Ave., Toms River. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
