Obituary of Frederick A. Ames

Frederick A. Ames, 72 of Whiting, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, April 8, 2011. Fred worked as a millwright for steel companies in Perth Amboy. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard. He was in fellowship at Bethany Bible Chapel, Toms River and was active with Christian youth ministries at the Cedarcroft, Terrill Road Assemblies and New Durham Chapel for 50 years as well as a book ministry with Lewis & Roth Publishers. Fred loved southern gospel music. Born in Elizabeth, he lived there and Rahway before moving to Whiting. He was predeceased by his brother Jerry Ames. Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela; a brother, Charles "Buddy" Ames; two sisters, Diane Wagner, Charlene Lehman and husband Joey; sister in law Rosemary Ames and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm with a funeral service at 8pm. A short prayer service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 11:00 followed by burial at Clover Leaf Park Cemetery, Woodbridge.
