Obituary of Richard H. Hensel

Richard H. Hensel, 58, of Toms River, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Richard was a route salesman with the Pepsi Bottling Co. of Philadelphia for 30 years. Prior to that, he worked for the Berkeley Township Public Works for 10 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 830 of Philadelphia and was a communicant of St. Justin's Catholic Church of Toms River. Richard enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, and had a passion for classic cars. He grew up in Bayville before moving to Toms River in 1984. Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Nancy Taylor Hensel; his devoted children, Richard Hensel, Jr., of Hamilton, Janeen Hensel-Karaba and her husband Tim of Bayville, Jonathan Hensel and his wife Emily Bonilla of Red Bank; his mother Helen Derhay of Toms River; his brother Harold Hensel of Toms River; his sister in law and brother in law Lillian and Frank Russo of Toms River and his sister in law Lynda Taylor of Toms River. Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews to whom he is affectionately known as "Uncle Pepsi". He will forever be missed by all. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. The funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 am Thursday at St. Justin's Catholic Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
