Obituary of Anna P. Amiano

Anna P. Amiano age 93, of Beachwood, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 07, 2012 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Carnegie, PA in 1918, she traveled extensively with her parents, Anna and John Popovich as they were employed by the railroad. She settled with her late husband Donato Francis in Berkeley Heights, NJ and raised four sons. A summer home in Beachwood became her primary residence in 1970. During World War II Anna worked at Westinghouse Meter where she received the Army and Navy "E" award for excellence. She also worked at Strong Cobb Arner Pharmaceuticals where she was recording secretary and charter member of the AFL/CIO Local 676, and was a microfiche technician at Bell Labs till her retirement. Anna was an avid reader and until she passed, read 4 newspapers a day. She is remembered as a kind and generous person and was most happy when she was surrounded by family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, lottery scratch off tickets and animals. Anna was predeceased by her husband Donato and her son John Stafford. She is survived by her sons, Daniel of Beachwood, Franklin of Farmingdale and Charles and his wife Laurie of Lanoka Harbor; and her grandson Matthew Amiano. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers those interested can make a donation in her honor to their favorite charity.
