Obituary of Stephen J. Kornett

Stephen J. Kornett, 95, of Freehold, passed away Monday, September 17, 2012. Born in Bayonne, he lived there most of his life. He worked for 44 years as a foreman for Texaco. After retiring he moved to the Ortley Beach section of Toms River and wintered in Jensen Beach, Fla. He was involved in the Holy Name Society at St. Andrews Church, in Bayonne. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Bayonne and the Moose Lodge in Ortley Beach. He was predeceased by his wife Kathryn in 2009. Surviving are his children, Stephen of Alexandria, VA, Michael of Washington Crossing, PA, and Robert of Manchester; a daughter, Eleanor Kukulya of Parlin; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Family viewing will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Friday from 9am to 10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, September 21 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 100 Grant Ave., Seaside Heights, followed by burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
