James H. Fox, 73 of Toms River, was called home to be with his Lord on Monday, October 15, 2012 with his devoted and loving wife by his side. Jim proudly served in the US Navy for 22 years. Jim was an active member of these Toms River organizations; the Lions Club, and was a progressive Melvin Jones Fellow and was a former Trustee of the Board of the District 16-B Charitable Foundation; Navy Lakehurst Historical Society; the VFW Post 6063; the DAV Chapter 24; the Eye Openers, and also the National Church Conference of the Blind and the Blind Veterans Chapter. As a member of the Toms River Community Church, he was the head of the men's ministry and the ushering staff, worked on the building committee, and was the recipient of the 2011 Excellent Ministry Award. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Caroline Fox and a brother Bud Fox. Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Greta Olsen Fox; three sons, Jeffery, Douglas and Bradley; two brothers, John and William Fox; two sisters, Patricia Traggai and Carol Fox-Porter. He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at Toms River Community Church, 22 Robbins Street, Toms River, 08753 on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 from 11:25 to 12:30 with a time of fellowship to follow.
