Obituary of Jean Angela Mary Inshan

Please share a memory of Jean to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jean, earned her wings on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the age of 71 after a brief illness with the COVID-19 Virus. She was born in British Guiana on May 30, 1948. Jean moved to Toms River, NJ in 1965, to be with her sister Dolores, her Grandfather, Aunt Marie, Uncle Jerome, and cousin Patricia. She then went back to Guyana in 1969 for a while where she met and married Stanley Inshan and helped in raising her dear nephew, Dwayne De Freitas. She later moved back to the U.S. with her husband who passed away in 1982. Jean eventually settled in the Niagara region in upstate New York where she was a member of St. Joseph’s parish for many years. As a teenager in Guyana, Jean enjoyed the company of her close group of friends in Murray Street, and was very popular at the many ‘Fetes’ that they attended. Jean was a fun-loving soul who always had family and friends at the centre of all that she thought and did. In her later years, she still enjoyed listening to her ‘oldies’ and country music, loved snacking on Iced Caps and Cinnamon Buns from Tim Horton’s, and had to have her ‘Pepsi fix’ as often as possible! Nothing, however, was more enjoyable than her daily phone calls with her sister Dolores. Jean, along with her contagious laugh, her infectious smile and her ‘pretty blue eyes’, will be sorrowfully missed and forever cherished in the hearts of all who have known and loved her especially her dear sister Dolores Ferreira, her brother Paschal Vieira and his wife Joanne, her beloved aunts, Marie Serrao and Celes Camacho, her nieces, Simone D’Onofrio (Jason), Tracy Wasik (Tom), her nephews, Mark Vieira, and Noel Vieira (Reshme), her adored great niece, Ava Wasik, and loving great nephews Cameron D’Onofrio, Nathan D’Onofrio, Luke Wasik and Noah Vieira, as well as her many cousins who were more commonly known as her brothers, her sisters and her best friends (including Norbert and Stanley De Freitas and Ann Marie Hinds). Rest in peace in the arms of the angels with your little brother Jerome Vieira , your grandparents, Mary and Vincent Ferreira (adoptive parents), your mother, Genevieve and your father, Pascall Vieira Sr.; our dear ‘belle of the ball’ Jean. Please feel free to express your condolences and memorable moments to the family on her Memorial Page at https://kedzfuneralhome.com/ . In lieu of flowers, Jean’s family would be grateful for any donations made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis Tennesee, 38105 (U.S.A.) at https://www.stjude.org/ or COVID-19 Pandemic Response (Canada) at https://www.canadahelps.org/ . A heartfelt thank you goes out to the staff of Newfane Rehab and Health Care for their extraordinary care and unconditional support over the years.
