Obituary of Louis Luigi Niglio

Louis 'Luigi' Niglio, 88 of Toms River, a retired Jersey City Fire Captain, former Atlantic City Jitney driver and longtime resident of Toms River passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012. He was born in Jersey City as the son of Rosario and Nicholas Niglio. He proudly served in the US Navy during World War II. Louis exemplified altruism and compassion throughout his life whether he was rescuing victims from burning buildings, working extra jobs to support his devoted family or by simply driving his grandchildren to school. Louis continues to be a source of wonderful memories shared by many whose love will never be forgotten and will always be passed on. He is adored by many who he leaves behind including his beloved wife Shirley; two sons Nicholas and David; daughter Denise; grandchildren Louis, Nikki, Scot, Elton, Evelyn; great-grandchildren Eve, Claire, Katherine, John Paul, Cecilia; and his sister Carmela. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 am Monday in the Risen Christ Chapel at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 56-80 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Louis' memory be made to the NJ Fireman's Home, 565 Lathrop Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 or the Alzheimer's Association, Greater NJ Chapter, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
