Obituary of JoAnn Highland

JoAnn Highland, 56, of Toms River passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was born in South Amboy, NJ. JoAnn graduated from Madison Central High School. She moved to Toms River from Old Bridge in 2015. JoAnn worked at Arthritis and Osteoporosis Associates in Freehold, NJ for a number of years. She loved her 9 nieces and nephews more than anything. She was there for every dance recital, show, game, and birthday party. JoAnn was absolutely selfless and the kindest person; she took amazing care of her mother for 10 years following her stroke. JoAnn was the best of all of us. JoAnn loved 80’s movies and music, leopard prints, and dying her hair crazy colors. JoAnn loved going out to eat and going to Atlantic City with her boyfriend Dave. JoAnn is predeceased by her mother, Agnes Highland. She is survived by her father, Henry Highland; sister Barbara Ann (Highland) Lee, brother Hank Highland, sister Patty Highland, sister Maureen (Highland) Costa, brother Bob Highland, 9 nieces and nephews and her boyfriend and partner David Prima. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Thursday, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
