Obituary of Joan M. McCabe

Joan McCabe, age 86 of Toms River, passed away, October 4, 2020. She is reunited with her devoted husband, Harold McCabe. She will be forever missed by her children - Sharon Omoletski and husband Jim of Woodbridge; Debra DeFazio and her late husband Anthony of Toms River; Harold McCabe and wife Diane of Toms River; seven adoring grandchildren - Samantha Aldinger and husband Mike, Jessica Perez and husband Terry, Anthony DeFazio and wife Laura, Stephanie Lance and husband Chris, Melissa Smith and husband Dylan, Brittany McCabe and fiancé Peter and Danielle McCabe along with fifteen loving great-grandchildren - Kayla, Kira, Ava, Katelyn, Aydan, Zachary, Dylan, Hunter, Lucas, Nicole, Michael, Ella, Emily, Brianna, Jason; and many other family members. Joan was born and raised in Jersey City. She raised her family in Jackson and Fords, before settling in Toms River for the last 25 years. As a child, she was an accomplished accordion player which was a joy to her Polish family. She was a hard worker and became a successful entrepreneur as the owner of Jomacs Party Store in Woodbridge. She loved crafts, buying the latest gadgets, and spending time down the shore and in Florida with her family. She was a very proud Grandma (Gram) and Great Grandma. Above all, family meant the most to Joan and she meant the world to her family. Service will be held privately for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, contributions to her favorite charity the ASPCA in her memory would be appreciated.
