Eileen E. Folmer, 76 of Toms River, passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday, December 19, 2020 of natural causes. She was born May 18, 1944 to Frank and Iva Engelmann. Eileen grew up in Middletown, NJ, then lived in New York before settling in Toms River. Eileen was known for her loving, caring demeanor and her blunt, unabated opinions. She was quick to volunteer whether at church or in the community and she was fierce in her love and protection of family. Eileen was a secretary, a daycare provider, and above all, a wonderful mother. Her hobbies included holding babies, singing, playing softball, bowling, and in earlier years, waterskiing. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Island Heights. She sang for the Garden State Philharmonic Chorus, sang the National Anthem at numerous sporting events, and participated in community theater.
She is survived by three sons, Jeffrey, Michael and Sam an two sisters, Linda and Joyce.She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Nicole, Jeffrey, Jeanella, Quinton and Evan and great grandson, Jaxson. She was predeceased by her brother Robert and sister Claudia. A memorial service will be held on May 22, 2021 in Island Heights, NJ. Details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to the Island Heights Methodist Food Pantry where she volunteered, or to the Pink Heals in honor of her late sister.
