Samuel P. Evans of Point Pleasant Boro, NJ passed away January 5, 2021 at Monmouth Medical Southern Campus, Lakewood, NJ. Samuel was born April 11, 1935 in Long Branch, NJ. Son of Henry Evans and Stella Borden Evans. Samuel “Sam” as known by everyone married his Canadian sweetheart, Myra MacInnis and moved to Point Pleasant Boro to raise a family. Sam was a custodian and school bus coordinator for Point Pleasant Boro Board of Education. He had many humorous stories to share about the interactions of students at Point Boro. After retiring he enjoyed his walks on the boardwalk, the ocean views, his many trips to Atlantic City Casinos, and especially his time with his beloved children and grandchildren – each having a special place in his heart including his fur babies, Molly and Blue who would always be on his lap. Samuel is predeceased by parents, Henry and Stella Evans, Myra MacInnis Evans, his brothers, James, Henry, Rodney, and Warren and his son, Gerald “Jerry” Evans. He is survived by sons, Samuel and Karen Evans, Colton, NY, Paul and Kathleen Evans, Forked River, NJ and daughters, Debra Evans, Toms River, NJ and Donna and Marshal Wofter, Weston, WV, his grandchildren Kimberly and Jordan Evans, Danny and Scott Stebbins, Ron Ferri, Sammy Evans, Jessica and Bobby Jones, and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside burial service for Sam will be in West Virginia sometime early summer.
