Obituary of George Wise

George Wise, 99 of Toms River passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012. He was a project engineer with Otis Elevator for over 30 years before retiring. Born in Toronto, Canada, George lived most of his life in Chappaqua, NY, moving to The Silverwoods and The Haven of Toms River 7 years ago. He was an avid golfer playing 18 holes twice a week until the age of 92. George also loved flowers and gardening and worked part time at the Green Briar Nursery in Pleasantville, NY for 50 years until the age of 92. Born in 1913, George lived through many hard times but always had a positive attitude and woke up each day happy. His smile was infectious and he always had a kind word for everyone he met hoping to brighten their day. He was very generous to his family and friends, and was a faithful supporter of the New York and New Jersey Humane Society and the Salvation Army. George was predeceased by his beloved wife Florence Yoeman Wise Surviving are his niece Lisa Neumann and her daughter Ariel, and his grand niece Stephanie Dutcher and her children Domminick and Ryan. Friends are invited to join the family in remembering George from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
