Obituary of Iline D. Melms

Iline D. Melms, 87, of Toms River passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Iline was born in Newark and raised in Hillside, NJ where she graduated from Hillside High School. She moved to Toms River in 1970. Iline was a member of the National Honors Society for 4 years. She owned and operated Upper Crust Bakery and Deli in Wanamassa, NJ for 15 years before retiring. Even at 87 years old Iline kept up with modern technology and enjoyed browsing through Facebook and playing Candy Crush. She also enjoyed her crossword and jigsaw puzzles and listening to music. Iline is predeceased by her beloved husband, John P. Melms; parents, Raymond and Loretta Bulwin, and her brother Raymond Bulwin. She is survived by her sons, Raymond Melms and his wife Nancy, and John Melms Jr.; daughter, Diane Aufiero and her husband Patrick; sister, Marylin Lott; granddaughters, Jacqueline Jackson and her husband Phil, and Gabrielle Melms; grandsons, Max and Tyler Aufiero, and great grandchildren, Stella and Logan Jackson. Services will remain private for the family. A memorial celebrate of Iline’s life will be announced at a later date.
