Obituary of Violeta G. Jose

Violeta G. Jose (92) was born in the Philippines where she lovingly called home with her beloved husband, Felipe where they raised their 8 children before setting their eyes on America to give their children the best opportunities in life. Mommy & Daddy Jose worked together in Staten Island at NY Life Insurance. Vita mastered the balance of raising 8 children, building her career, and doting over the love of her life, her husband all the while entertaining the flood of kids in Toms River, NJ where they later settled until they both retired. Everyone who met her felt the welcoming spirit in her home with her delicious food & stories of wisdom she so passionately passed on. Mommy Jose was the epitome of the modern woman, always eager to dress up, go dancing, or play a game of Majong. She lived a very full life with her adoring family at the heart of it all. She is predeceased by her husband Felipe, her daughters Renee & Dora, and her sons Christopher and Edgar, her 2 brothers & sister, as well as her grandchildren Jay & Stephanie. She is survived by her siblings Dr. Jesus Garcia of Toms River, Tessie Garcia of the Philippines, and Josephine of Queens, NY. Also survived by her children, Jocelyn & family of Jupiter, Fl, Jonathan & family of Tom’s River, NJ, Jennifer & family of Stamford, CT, and Felipe Jr. & family of Port St. Lucie, Fl. Her legacy also includes her 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Violeta will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021, at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am Saturday, March 6, 2021, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Toms River.
