Obituary of John DiGregorio

John DiGregorio, Sr., 83 of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was a chemist and worked for Colgate Palmolive for 37 years. John proudly served in the US Army with the 6th Armored Division during the Korean War. He was an accomplished musician- songwriter, and was the leader of the popular 70's All Occasions Band "Johnny D and his Embers". He was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Toms River. Born and raised in Jersey City, John lived in Fords before moving to Toms River in 2000. He was predeceased by a son Salvatore of Toms River in November of 2007. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rosalie; 4 sons, Angelo and his wife Donna of Easton, PA, John and his wife Lori of Brick, NJ, Joseph and Lorraine of Toms River, Paul and his wife Eileen of Toms River; two sisters, Anna DeAngelo of Iselin, NJ, Angie Smith of Fords, NJ; 8 grandchildren, Danielle, Michael, Tommy, John, Jessica, Joey, Paulie, Alyssa; and great grandson Tyler. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated 10:00am Monday at St. Joseph's Church, Hooper Ave., Toms River followed by entombment at St. Joseph Cemetery.
