John Zelenak, 66, of Toms River (Uncle Jack), passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 19, 2021. Uncle Jack was born in Perth Amboy before moving to Old Bridge. He graduated from Madison High School. Uncle Jack worked as a Janitor for 15 years for the Florida School Systems. He had a love for kids and his family. Uncle Jack enjoyed sports, especially the Mets, racetracks, reading, and horse races. He loved his family dearly and would do anything to make someone smile.
Uncle Jack had a love of music. He was a member of the 2BTB Music Family and was a big part of all their rock shows. Uncle Jack did everything to help the band with equipment, sound checks, and even made sure the band members had what they needed for the performance. Uncle Jack was very helpful to Joe Birardi. He assisted with all these productions and was his top crew member.
He is predeceased by his loving parents, Andy and Alice Zelenak, and his brothers Andrew Zelenak and James Sibree.
Uncle Jack is survived by his niece, Danielle Zelenak; nephews, Richard Nelson, Andrew, and Michael Zelenak.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 7 – 8 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Cremation will remain private.
