Obituary of Rita Parker

Rita Parker, 82, of Toms River, passed away in the early morning Monday, February, 25, 2013 at Ocean Medical Center, Brick, NJ. Since October 2008, she had been battling numerous health issues and finally succumbed to complications after fighting to live for her family. Predeceased by her husband John Parker, she raised her 5 children on her own. Rita was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother who lived her life for her family. As the matriarch of her family, she taught her children and grandchildren that nothing is more important than family and standing up for what is right. Everyone could see how much her family truly meant to her. She was predeceased by her two youngest sons, John M. Parker and Joel T. Parker. Rita is survived by her two loving sons, Lawrence J. Parker and Michael J. Parker; her loving daughter, Elizabeth A. Borkland; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She will be loved and missed dearly, never forgotten and always in our hearts. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral service will be offered 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home.
