Obituary of Joseph John Birardi, Jr.

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Joseph John Birardi, Jr., 55, of Toms River passed away peacefully on Monday, October 25, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born and raised in Toms River, NJ where he has spent his entire life. He graduated from Toms River High School East and then joined with his Father to work side by side for life as Joseph Birardi & Son Plumbing and Heating. What a team! Music was Joe's life; he was the chief engineer and producer for 2BTB Music which has eighteen bands and owned East Coast Productions Recording Studio. He often did benefit shows for Adopt-a-Soldier Platoon raising money for our troops. Joe donated guitars to multiple charities for raffles to raise money. He played in many bands all over including famous venues such as The Stone Pony, Wonder Bar, and House of Independents in Asbury Park. For everyone who knew Joe, all agree he was truly special, a unique personality, enormous heart, funny and entertaining, patriotic, and relentlessly committed to his friends, his family, and his son Joey "JJ". Joe is predeceased by his parents, Joseph John Birardi, Sr. and Ann Birardi; niece, Kimmy Harrill, and close friend, Jack Zelenak; aka Uncle Jack. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Danielle Zelenak; son, Joseph John Birardi, III; brothers, James Harrill and his wife Barbara, Bill Harrill and his wife Debi, and David Harrill and his wife Sharon; sister, Elaine Weigle; nieces, Nikayla, Shaelyn, Kiana, Carly, Codi, and Sarah, and nephews, Slade, Garrick, Ralph, and John. Joe loved all of his nieces and nephews dearly. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Interment will take place on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 3 International Drive, Suite 200 Rye Brook, NY, 10573. The family requests that donations made for the future of Little Joey be handed directly to the staff of Kedz Funeral Home.
