Obituary of Jacob J. Hester, Jr.

We are deeply saddened to announce that Jacob James Hester, Jr. passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2022 with his wife and children by his side. Jacob was born on August 25th, 1957 in Lakewood, NJ. He was a graduate of Central Regional High School. Jacob was employed by and retired from Berkeley Township Public Works as a truck driver. Jacob was an amazing son, husband, brother, father, grandfather (Pop-Pop), uncle, and friend. He was patient, kind, loving, funny, and friendly that's just some of the amazing qualities he had. Jacob had a deep love for music, old cars, his motorcycle, and WWE wrestling, but most of all his family. Jacob is predeceased by his father, Jacob Hester, Sr.; two sisters, Jacqueline Hester and Alice Hester; a nephew, Christopher Wallace, and a son, Kenneth Anderson. Jacob is survived by his mother, Carrie Hester; his wife, Lauryn Hester; three children, Jasmine Hester, Jenna Hester, Stephaine Anderson, and son-in-law, Cristian Martinez; one sister, Sallie Hester and one brother, Christopher Hester; seven grandchildren, Sensei, Aiyanna, Jasear, Dasan, Eric, Jaxson, and Julian. Jacob is also survived by twenty-four nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends, and co-workers that were dear to him. Jake, you'll be forever missed, never forgotten, and always in our hearts. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022, from 9 - 11 am with a service beginning at 11 am, at New Hope Baptist Church, 171 11th Street, Toms River, NJ. Interment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. Family and friends are invited to join the family at a repast held at the Fraternal Order of Police Hall, 1791 North Bay Avenue, Toms River following the burial.
