Obituary of Barbara A. Acquavella

Barbara “Bobbi” Acquavella, 85, of Whiting, NJ passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Barbara was born in East Orange, NJ and raised in Newark, NJ. She graduated from Arts High School, the same high school that Connie Francis attended. After graduating high school Barbara began working for Coats and Clarks in Union for 26 years, and was often found playing tennis at Arcadia Park across the street. She later moved on to work for Arbee Associates before retiring. She loved music, especially the 60’s and disco music. She enjoyed taking day trips to Atlantic City where she would visit the Casino’s and NYC to see musicals. Bobbi could be seen in Ocean Grove strolling with Sachi. She always attended the animal blessings. Barbara often babysat her dog niece, Sachi Mia a.k.a her “Peanut.” She is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Madeline Acquavella, and her life partner, Lynn Wilson. Barbara is survived by her sister, Antoinette “Toni” Acquavella; friend, Jim Duris; loving cousin, Sandra Spagnuolo; many maternal and paternal cousins, and her friends, Marie Zotti, Jean Martin, Maryann Payne, Charlotte Martin, Iris DeVue, and Rev. Elizabeth Kaeton (St. Paul’s Church, Chatham, NJ). Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 180 County Road 539, Whiting, NJ. Entombment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 in Barbara’s memory.
