Obituary of John J. Corcoran

John J. Corcoran, 86, of Toms River, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013. John worked for the US Postal Service at Cooper Station in Manhattan, and then worked as a truck driver for Teamsters Local 560 until he retired. He was a communicant of St. Maximilian-Kolbe Catholic Church. John served in the US Navy during World War II. His favorite place to hang out was his garage where he spent many hours lovingly making arts and crafts for his children and grandchildren. He was also known for his good Irish sense of humor. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen on August 30, 2012. He is survived by four daughters, Patricia Gonzalez of Lakewood, Donna Amato of Mastic, NY, Elena Marinello of Warren, NJ, Leonora Bentivegna of Manahawkin; brother Thomas Corcoran of Brick; twelve grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:30 am, Monday, April 1, at St. Maximilian-Kolbe Church, 130 St. Maximilian Lane, Berkeley Twp. followed by burial at Brig. Gen. William Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
