On March 17, 2022, Clarisa Gadian Sulatan, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, friend and colleague, passed away peacefully in Toms River, New Jersey surrounded by the love of her children, nieces and nephews at the age of 82. Clarisa was born in the Philippines and finished her Master’s Degree in Education in Agusan Institute of technology and Bachelor’s Degree in Mindanao State University major in Physics and minor in Mathematics in Mindanao State University. She was an educator for several years and retired as principal in Regional Science High School (Philippines). She met her husband, Pedrito Sulatan, of 54 years while they were both working students at Bethany Christian School in 1959 and later married in 1968. They built a life together in the Philippines with the help of God who was the center of their marriage and raised their children in the fear of the Lord. She later moved to the United States with her loving husband and worked as a home health aide. She liked picnicking, crabbing, traveling, hiking, and gardening. In sports, she played softball and coached volleyball when she was younger. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she adored. She was a member of Messiah Bible Church for the past 10 years and she loved the Lord and her life validated it. Her exuberant personality was contagious and she had a big heart. She was predeceased by her father, Servando Gadian and mother, Agueda Ralar. Clarisa will be lovingly remembered by her husband Pedrito, Roel and his wife Gina, Rowena, Jasmin, and Ronald, and grandchildren, Jesper Roegin, Josh Ryan, Ashley Kim, and Krishia Mae. Her legacy will live on the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with as well as those she reached but never met.
