Jeffrey J. Hungridge, 63, of Toms River, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 25, 2022. Jeffrey was born in Camden and raised in Oak Valley, NJ. He graduated from Deptford HS and was a proud member of the Spartan music program. He continued to entertain his family by frequently playing his trumpet and guitar. He graduated from Glassboro State College (Rowan University) with a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science. Jeffrey had a successful career in computer software and technology. He began his professional career at AT&T where he developed many lifelong friendships. Throughout his career, he worked on many military projects for the US government, which took him to numerous states around the country.
Jeffrey was a life long Eagles and Phillies fan. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, music, playing chess and horseshoes. He was the consummate host who made everyone feel welcome. He demonstrated his barbecue skills at the grill and was always the winner of the annual chicken wing tasting contest.
Jeffrey and his daughter Ashley shared a passion for history, genealogy and marvel movies. Ashley was his partner in crime and best friend
He is predeceased by his parents, Robert and Splendora Hungridge.
Jeffrey is survived by his caring wife of 27 years, Karen Ashley Hungridge; cherished daughter, Ashley Hungridge; brother, Robert Hungridge and his wife Diane; sisters-in-law Deborah Connor and her husband John and Angela Ashley, her husband Mark McStay and family; brother-in-law, Matthew Ashley; nephews: Bryan, Gavin, Chase, Ryan; nieces: Megan, Roseann, Lorraine, Katie, Andrea; great nephew and niece Jack and Grace and many cousins.
Jeffrey is also survived by his closest friends: Thomas Czernik and family, Milano family, Lykes family, and Ron Gurdak and family.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, June 2, 2022 from 4 – 6 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Cremation will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s or a charity of your choice.
