Obituary of Elizabeth Henderson-Pickering

Elizabeth "Bette' Henderson Pickering, 95 of Lakewood, passed away Friday, April 26, 2013. Bette spent her life helping those around her. She was a member of the Toms River Presbyterian Church and served as an elder for over 50 years. She was past president of the Pleasant Plains First Aid Ladies Auxiliary. Bette was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years and was a volunteer at Community Hospital for 27 years. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ and lived in Toms River for over 20 years before moving to Lakewood 8 years ago. She was predeceased by her first husband George H. Henderson in 1977 and her second husband George Pickering in 1994. Bette is survived by her son, Wayne R. Henderson and his wife Anne of Toms River; her daughter Carol Przewoznik and her husband Ray of Toms River; 10 Grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Bette's life will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Presbyterian Church of Toms River, 1070 Hooper Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753.
