Obituary of Mary Ann Maloney

Mary Ann Maloney, 88 of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. Mary Ann studied nursing at the Ann May School of Nursing in Neptune, NJ and worked as a registered nurse at Community Medical Center of Toms River for 30 years before retiring in 1995. Mary Ann was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the church choir. Mary Ann was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. She spent many wonderful years in Wrangel Island, Alaska before moving to Billings, Montana where she graduated from High School. Her family then moved to New Jersey and settled in Island Heights in 1969. Mary Ann was predeceased by her parents, George and Helen Barrett, and two brothers, Dennis and Tim Barrett. She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, James P. Maloney; three sons, John Magierski, Thomas Magierski and wife Carol, James Magierski and wife Emma; four step children, Lorraine Allen and husband Richard, Virginia Halbfoster and husband Chris, James Maloney and wife Allie, Mary Boland and husband Tracy; 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Ashley, Maggie, Gregory, Jeffrey, Danny, Jonathan, Jillian, Kelly and Katie; and 5 great grandchildren, Miles, Logan, Luke, Jimmy and Calvin. Visitation will be held at the Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River, on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Friends are invited to meet the family for the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated 11:30am on Friday, Sept. 9, at St. Joseph’s Church, 509 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
