Patricia "Patty" Smith, 71, of Crisfield and formerly of New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, Salisbury, Maryland. Born in Lakewood, NJ on July 5, 1951, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Edna Colvin of Seaside Park who owed Cap Colvin’s Bait and Tackle. Patty was a graduate of Central Regional High School in Bayville, NJ. In 1971 she won Miss Congeniality in the Miss Ocean County Scholarship Pageant. She went on to become a Certified Dental Assistant and a Registered Dental Assistant. While in New Jersey, she worked as an office manager, CDA and RDA at All In The Family Dental in Spring Lake. She was also a teacher at Ocean County Vocational School in the Dental Assistant and Dental Radiology programs. She previously served on the Board with the Beachwood- Pine Beach Little League and was an active fundraiser for Toms River South Baseball and Cheerleading.

She was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Westover, Md. and was a member of the local Julienna's Ladies organization of the Knights of Columbus. Patty enjoyed going to the beach and fishing. She loved her beloved dog, Charlie, and enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Smith on September 28,2021; her brothers, Lawrence and Peter Colvin; and a grandchild, Ella Long.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Francis James "Jim" Smith of Crisfield; children, Amanda Long and husband Timothy of Hatfield, PA and Cassandra Neilson and husband Brian of Crisfield MD ; sister, Lorraine Kohlbrenner of Stuart, FL; grandchildren, Dylan Long, Emma Long, Brian Neilson, Jr. and wife Erin, Zachary Neilson, and Jake Neilson; great-grandchild, Olivia Neilson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00am, Wednesday, December 21 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 33 Woodland Ave., Bayville, NJ. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Toms River.
