Obituary of John C. Zanetti

John Carlo Zanetti, 87 of Toms River, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 06, 2013 at his home. He was born in the Little Italy section of Manhattan, NY and moved to Toms River in 1985. John was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Force and a retired New York City Police Officer. He gave to his community through 50 years of Boy Scouting, Past President and member of the Jersey Shore 1013, National Advisor NYCPD 1013, member of Toms River American Legion and a communicant of St. Justin's Catholic Church. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years, Kathleen O'Keefe Zanetti, a daughter, Diane Zanetti-Montali of Monroe, NJ, and a brother, Oreste Zanetti. Surviving are his children; son John and his wife Jan of Byram, NJ (their children Andrea, Marc and Nicholas & great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Rick and Brooke); son Stephen and his wife Debra of Newton, NJ (their children Danny, Linda and Steve & great-grandchild Christopher); son Peter and his wife Sharon of Seaside Park (their children Peter and Chris & great-grandchild Jacob); daughter Patricia Zanetti-Osborne and her husband Mark of Toms River (their children Aaron, Brian, Andrew, James and Amber & great-grandchild Joshua); son-in-law Guido Montali of Monroe (his children Guido, Michael, Matthew and Amanda & great-grandchildren Rocco, Giada, Michael and Lydia); and many beloved extended family members and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated 11:00 am Friday at St. Justin's Catholic Church, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River, followed by burial with military honors at the Brig. General William Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Van Dyke Hospice, 99 Route 37 West, Toms River, NJ 08755 in his memory would be appreciated.
