Paul J. Szeker, Jr., age 84 of Toms River, passed away on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Paul was employed by the Ocean County Vocational School in Toms River. He was a custodian for over 23 years before retiring. Paul loved the outdoors, especially the ocean. He loved fishing, taking cruise’s and just spending time watching the waves. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, he moved to Toms River in 1957. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church of Toms River and was a member of the Coast Guard Association.

He was predeceased by his parents, Paul J. Szeker, Sr., and Ann Zatylny Szeker and his sister Maryann Flynn.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Phyllis Szeker; son Paul J. Szeker, III; daughter Pamela Bonaccolto and her husband Michael; brother Peter Szeker and his wife Gail; brother-in-law James Flynn; granddaughters Adrianna and Aubree Bonaccolto; nieces and nephew, David and Brett Szeker, and Julie and Matthew Flynn.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 Thursday, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 685 Hooper Ave., Toms River.
