Obituary of Kenneth J. Newby

Kenneth J. Newby, 58 of Toms River, passed away suddenly on Saturday, May 20, 2023. Ken has worked for over 30 years as a Dairy Manager for the Shop Rite of Manchester. He was involved with his sons activities, serving as assistant Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 62 and as a coach for the flag football team. Ken loved to spend time fishing with his family. Born in Neptune, Ken grew up in Bradley Beach, but lived most of his life in Toms River. Ken was predeceased by his nephew Ronald Newby Jr., his father Robert Newby, and his step father, Michael Abline. Ken is leaving behind his high school sweetheart and wife of 38 years, Lorri: his two cherished sons, Justin(Jaida) and Austin; his grandson, Julius; mother, Joyce Abline; mother-in-law, Sara Crown; brothers and sisters, Ronald, Frank(Jen), Joe(Cassie), Tara, Samantha(Chris) and Nicole; his brother and sister-in-laws, Tracey(Pat), Joe(Holly), Michael(Rachael). He leaves behind an abundance of family, Judy(Michael) and Patty, and many nieces and nephews including Pamela(Trevor), Anthony, Shayna(Mike), Zach(Kelsie), Dillon, Leanna(Robert), Charlie, Skylar, and Triston. Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River, on Thursday, May 25, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 8:30pm, followed by a funeral service at 8:30pm.
