Lorraine McGarvey, 88, of Toms River passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Lorraine was born in Newark, NJ to the late Dominic and Ann Fernicola. She worked as a Nanny for 20 years taking care of children of all ages. After retirement, Lorraine enjoyed lying by her pool on summer days. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and her dog, Suzie.

She is predeceased by her son, James McGarvey; sisters, Jean DiSalvo and Barbara Fernicola, and brothers, Joe Fernicola and Anthony Fernicola.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 54 years, Norman McGarvey; son, Rocco Rapuano and his wife Margie; daughter, June Wood and her husband Robert; grandchildren, Robert Bianchini and his wife Marissa, Rocco Rapuano, II, and Tina Rapuano; great-grandchildren, Martin Bianchini and Cora Bianchini; sisters, Mary Marotta and Ginger Biank and many extended family and friends.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, from 5 – 8 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River.
