Obituary of Jenny Azzarello
Please share a memory of Jenny to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jenny Azzarello, 39, of Toms River passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, surrounded by her family. Jenny was born in Goshen, NY and raised in Monroe, NY. She graduated from Monroe-Woodbury School District where she excelled in volleyball and later received her Bachelor’s in Education at William Paterson University. Jenny worked for the Toms River School System as a Teacher for 13 years before pursuing her passion for photography. While teaching full-time she invested her free time and energy to learn the technical side of the craft. In 2017 she founded Shedding Light Photography fulfilling her love for newborn photography where she captured memories and made “time stand still” for countless families both on location and in her home studio.
Growing up Jenny always dreamt of motherhood, she loved children and could not wait to fulfill the role herself; it is what she believed she was meant to do. She met her husband, Joe, in 2010, and were married in 2015. When she gave birth to Johanna in 2015, her dream of becoming a mother came true. Jacoby added to that dream in 2017 and Jonathan completed the family in 2020. Simply being a mom was all Jenny wanted in life and she was a natural, the absolute best. Her children were always #1, she lived for them.
Jenny loved the beach, watching the sun rise and set, and listening to the waves crash. She loved butterflies and the purple butterfly bush in the backyard. She loved yellow flowers. Jenny played guitar, sang, quoted Friends with uncanny accuracy, smiled the whitest smile, laughed and made others laugh with an unmatched sense of humor. She was an athlete who rooted for the Yankees and the NY Giants, played co-ed softball and flag football for charity events like the Special Olympics. She loved life, loved her children, loved her family, loved loving others and feeling their love. That was her favorite word: love.
Jenny is survived by her beloved husband, Joe; her children, Johanna, Jacoby, and Jonathan; parents, John and Frances Ajjan, and her brothers, Brian and his wife Chamin, and Kevin.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 from 5 – 8 pm at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ.
