Obituary of Emilia Molinini Keen

Emilia Molinini Keen, (often known as Emily, Emy, Aunt Emy, Emilini-Molinini, and Mom) 65, of Barnegat passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 14, 2023. Emilia was born in Hoboken, NJ, and raised in West New York, NJ. Her proudest accomplishments were not only her two wonderful children, but that she was a second-generation American to Italian immigrants, and the first in her family to proudly serve in the United States Navy. She was a Naval Photographer for four years, and served aboard the USS Vulcan: the first Navy ship to have women aboard. She was a proud veteran. She was a member of the American Legion, Elks #2340, and multiple Veterans Organizations. Emily was full of life, love, and spirit. She had a love of cheering on the Seton Hall Pirates, dancing to anything, especially old 45s with her bestie Jojo, and… of course, the one and only Jon Bon Jovi. More than that, she loved being on the water and spending time with the people she loved. Emilia is predeceased by her parents, Michele and Maria Molinini. She is survived by her son Michael Keen and fiancée Lori Trzcinski, daughter, Maria Keen, sister, Martha Molinini, best friend and confidante, Charles Braun, and beloved dog, Buddy. She is also survived by many other loving friends and family — but to Emily, all of her friends WERE family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 12 – 2 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m. at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Avenue, Toms River, NJ.
