Obituary of Robert J. Rastall

Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert (Bob) Jack Rastall, 90, of Berkeley Township passed away Friday, November 3, 2023. Born June 29, 1933, in New Brunswick, NJ. Robert grew up in Montville, NJ prior to moving to Toms River, NJ. He Honorably served in the United States Army. Bob was a heavy equipment operator who worked for Suffolk County Contractors for many years. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He told people he was a lucky man; but we were the lucky ones, we will love him and miss him forever. He loved to share his lifetime of memories with vivid stories whether, it was his time spent in the Army, hauling boats, construction projects, bowling, or even talking about the latest episode of Gunsmoke or Gold Rush. He loved the outdoors, tending to his lawn, feeding the deer, bird watching, and gardening. He thoroughly enjoyed and looked forward to his trips to Atlantic City and playing the slot machines. After retiring, he moved to Holiday City and made many friendships that he truly cherished; especially his friendship with Marilyn Kantor. Marilyn was a true and dear friend to Bob. He cherished their time together. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife of 42 years, Annette Rastall, grandson, Nicholas Miranda, 3 brothers, Birdsall, Donald, and Edward, and 3 sisters, Helen, Ruth, and Edna. He is survived by his four daughters, Robin Wisse (Bill), Gail Tamasy (George), Amy Rastall, and Janice Rastall (Scott); his sister Dorothy Rupp (Charles): 6 grandchildren, Jessica Getgen (Austin), Isadore, Bill Jr., Annie, Brooke and James; and 4 Great Grandchildren, Ariana, James, Kai and Ava; and also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. We will miss him beyond measure and are comforted knowing that he is reunited with his beloved wife Annette and Grandson Nicholas. As Bob would say, Have a Good Day! Visitation will be held at Kedz Funeral Home, 1123 Hooper Ave., Toms River on Tuesday, November 7th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 8th at the funeral home, followed by burial with Military Honors at Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, please donate in his memory to Deborah Heart and Lung Center www.deborahfoundation.org or Berkeley Township PBA #237, P.O. Box 237, Bayville, NJ 08721
